‘WASK’ – Tarik Belghazi, Co-Founder & CEO at MCES AFRICA talking to Games MEA expresses his happiness on winning the Free Fire Arab League and shares his optimism about his team’s preparation to lift the trophy at the Free Fire World Series in Singapore
Congratulations on winning the Free Fire Arab League, what does this victory means to you and how would you describe your journey so far?
I have to say that this victory makes me feel happy and all the team members are rejoicing. More than that, to win the Free Fire Arab League for the second year in a row is an incredible achievement and a pride of our school as most of the players in our team have spent more than six months in our academy in Casablanca, Morocco.
What do you have to say about the other teams in the league and what made you come on the top?
We were fully aware that there would be a lot of difficult games and that proved to be the case. The teams taking part are all very experienced and possess quality special individual players. However, it is a team effort and we believe what makes a strong team is the integration and coordination on which the group relies to be strong as one and this is what we were able to build as an integrated team. How has been the response from the fans?
Our journey with the fans has been long and tough. In the end, we learned a lot from them and at the same time, they learned a lot from us. It is a relationship of giving and that has turned with time into a close relationship and this has helped us strive to achieve our common aspirations. Overall, we are proud of the trust placed in us by the Moroccan and Arab youth.
Free Fire World Series is going to be an entirely different game, with unknown teams, unknown players, highly competitive environment, what’s your take on the finals?
We are looking forward to the World Series as it would be a good opportunity to show how good we are on a global stage. But we are not afraid and we will go into the tournament knowing there’s no reason why we can’t win the title.
Are you going to field the same team in the finals or there will be any changes?
We will go to the World Series finals with the same players, as they are the ones who helped us reach this stage.
What does it take to win a world series and how are you preparing the team for the finals in Singapore?
We are very optimistic about our level and we are fully prepared. The most important thing will be in psychological preparation and using fear as fuel to ignite the fighting fire and focus on the day of decisiveness and rise as a team.
Which are the other teams that you think can give you hard time at the finals?
We are competing with champions in their respective regions, and therefore we consider them on the same level and every team we will respect. There is the buzz of gaining world experience, and there is the buzz of intelligence and extraordinary speed. We have taken into consideration all of this to ensure we prepare in the best possible way and give our best shot at the World Series.
Where do you see your team in the next 2 years?
We are confident there’s a bright future ahead. Our team has outstanding prospects provided that we continue our intense efforts. I consider this to be the beginning and not the end. I see my team at a high and steady level confirming its permanent presence on the global stage of Free Fire. I also see it as an opportunity for ambitious youth in life to build a better future for themselves by taking part in gaming.
