For the third consecutive year, Garena Free Fire was the most downloaded mobile game globally in 2021, according to App Annie. During the 12 months, Free Fire secured the highest number of downloads across both the iOS and Google Play stores, ranking first in App Annie’s State of Mobile 2022 report. Among Free Fire’s highlights in 2021 were achieving a new record high of more than 150 million peak daily active users in 2021 and recording over 1 billion downloads on the Google Play store.

Garena also collaborated with some of the world’s most popular stars and brands including Mohamed Ramadan, DJ duo Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike (DVLM), McLaren, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, and a second tie-up with Netflix smash-hit Money Heist (La Casa de Papel).

In addition, Free Fire’s flagship tournament of the year, the Free Fire World Series 2021 in Singapore was watched by 5.4 million concurrent viewers at its peak. According to figures released by Esports Charts (excluding Chinese streaming and video platforms), it was the highest of any esports match in history.
