After suffering a shocking defeat in the Grand Final of the inaugural Esports World Cup in 2024, Team Vitality left no stone unturned this year putting on a complete show of dominance in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Women’s Invitational to secure the Championship.
Going undefeated for the entire tournament, Team Vitality secured clean sweep after clean sweep, defeating Twisted Minds 2-0 and Team Falcons 2-0 in the group stage, before a 2-0 win over FUT Esports in the Quarter Final and a 3-0 victory over Team Liquid in the Semi Final.
In the Grand Final, it was another demonstration of superiority as Team Vitality stormed to a 4-0 victory over Gamin Gladiators to win the tournament and retake their position as the world’s best.
“We just wanted to prove that no one can do it better than us,” said Michelle “Chell” Siswanto after their impressive win in the final. “I think that the title was meant to be ours all along.”
The win gives Vitality players, and sisters, Cindy Laurent “Cinny” Siswanto and Michelle Denise “Chell” Siswanto, the moment they felt they were robbed of last year. Just days before the 2024 tournament began, they lost their grandfather, but despite their grief, they played on. Their story is showcased in the Amazon Prime documentary series, Level Up, which is available now.
The sisters are now the second pair of siblings to claim victory at the 2025 Esports World Cup after Team Heretics players Ričardas “Boo” Lukaševičius and Dominykas “MiniBoo” Lukaševičius lifted the Valorant trophy last weekend.
“We feel a little overwhelmed,” admitted Team Vitality’s Michelle Denise “Chel” Siswanto. “It’s been a year since our last defeat at the Esports World Cup in 2024 and now we are back on this stage, this time as champions. We’re very proud of ourselves and our achievements. We deserve this”
“We all went through struggles at first playing Mobile Legends and we got through by never giving up and finding ways to improve ourselves. You just can’t give up, you have to commit to continuous improvement and eventually you will see the results of your efforts.”
Team Vitality players Venny “FUMI EKO” Lim, Viorelle “Vival” Chen, Cindy “Cinny” Siswanto, Michelle “Chell” Siswanto and Vivi “Vivian” Indrawaty overcame challenges from 15 other clubs to win a $150,000 prize and secure 1,000 Club Championship points.
Cindy “Cinny” Siswanto was also named the tournament MVP in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Women’s Invitational winning $10,000 for her outstanding performances throughout the Esports World Cup 2025.
“Of course we were undefeated in the whole tournament,” said Vivi “Vivian” Indrawaty. “The main thing we focused on was discipline, across all of our team. All five of us have our own personalities, our own skills and experiences, we don’t ever want to give a single win to any of our opponents. We never want to give them hope or show any vulnerability at all. We want to be dominant, always.”
The second week of EWC 2025 continues until Sunday 20 July with finals across competitions in Dota 2, League of Legends and Free Fire.
