Sony introduces PlayStation Classic

Sony introduced the original PlayStation nearly a quarter of a century on 3rd December 1994 and it soon became the first home console in video game history to sell 100 million units worldwide, and now the company has decided to revisit the past and bring back the original PlayStation experience but in a new miniaturized version – PlayStation Classic! The new console will come pre-loaded with 20 classic titles, including fan-favorites such as Final Fantasy VII, Jumping Flash, Ridge Racer Type 4, Tekken 3, and Wild Arms.

The mini console emulates the original PlayStation’s look and feel by featuring similar controllers and packaging. Sony expects that its long-time fans will appreciate the nostalgia that comes with rediscovering the games they know and love, while gamers who might be new to the platform can enjoy the groundbreaking PlayStation console experience that started it all. All of the pre-loaded games will be playable in their original format.

The Sony PlayStation Classic will be available from December 3, 2018 at select retailers at a MSRP of 9,980 yen in Japan, $ 99 USD in North America and € 99 in Europe. Each device will come with an HDMI cable, a USB cable, and two controllers for players.
