Saudi Esports Federation launches Prime League

The Saudi Esports Federation has launched the Prime League, a beta edition of a new grassroots competition aiming to supercharge gaming and esports, from amateur to professional levels, in Saudi Arabia,and further elevate player development through competitive experience.

The Prime League unites 11 diverse titles and provides a tech-driven platform for youth, with the aim of fueling player growth, fostering a vibrant esports community and creating pathways for amateur players to progress their development towards participation in professional esports.

Taking place across 88 tournaments, players in the Prime League can compete for their share of the SAR 800,000 prize pool across 11 titles including League of Legends, Valorant, PUBG Mobile, Rocket League, Overwatch 2, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Marvel Rivals, Dota 2 and Counter Strike 2, EA FC25 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

“The Prime League is a cornerstone of our efforts to truly supercharge grassroots gaming and player development in Saudi Arabia,” said Abdullah Alnasser, Head of Esports Products at the Saudi Esports Federation.

“By uniting diverse titles and offering a clear, tech-driven pathway from amateur participation to professional esports, we’re not just organizing tournaments, we’re fueling player growth, fostering a vibrant community, and actively scouting the next generation of Saudi champions through real-world experience in competitive gameplay.”

The Prime League supports the Saudi Esports Federation’s strategic objectives to foster a vibrant esport community by increasing amateur participation in esports competitions, drive awareness of esports in the community, advance premier esports and leagues within Saudi Arabia, develop esports players, teams and the national team into world champions, and to become the international benchmark for esports federations by cultivating a culture of excellence.

Creating pathways for players to shine, the Prime League provides a platform for successful players competing to progress to the Saudi eLeague and serves as a hub for scouting talent, allowing clubs and the national team to identify and empower rising stars.

The tournaments are split into two phases, the Division and the Championship.The Division phase is where all titles begin and is open to all players who can compete in unlimited matches as part of a skills-based matchmaking system to gather points, with the top-ranking players across 30 days of competition progressing to the Championship, to compete for the prize pool.

In the Championship the top players on the leaderboard from the Division phase will compete across four days, with winners claiming their share of the prize pool and select winning players qualifying to participate in the Saudi eLeague Online Major.
