Review: Epomaker Tide75 Gaming Keyboard

Epomaker recently released the new Tide75, an all-metal gaming keyboard with hot-swappable keys, south-facing RGB lighting, wireless connectivity, and more. Here are our thoughts about the new keyboard.

Design

While we have reviewed several Epomaker keyboards in the mast few months, the new Tide75 is the latest keyboard from the company that features a premium looking all-metal body structure. The keyboard is quite heavy, weighing about 1.8kg. The dimensions of the keyboard are 330 x 146 x 21.5 mm. Epomaker mentions that the metal chassis is made of 6063 Aluminum with Electrophoretic finish.

The Tide75 is a mechanical keyboard, featuring a total of 82 keys and one silver control knob on a 75% layout. Epomaker offers the Tide75 in Blue, Purple, Black, and Pink colors, and we got the Blue color model for review. As you can see, the Blue color model is vibrant in its looks, and the OEM profile double-shot PBT keycaps features south-facing letter printing.

The bottom side of the Tide75 is also blue in color, along with a reflective PVD backpiece with Epomaker branding. On the rear side, there is a USB-C port for wired connectivity, along with a switch to toggle between wired and wireless modes. On the rear right side, there is the slot that houses the dongle for wireless connectivity.

Features

The Tide75 features a hot-swappable PCB and comes with the Epomaker Lemon Linear switches. The RGB LEDs are south facing to compliment the south-facing keycaps. To enhance the typing experience, the keyboard features a FR4 plate made of high-density fiber. There are also five layers of sound-dampening materials that enhances the acoustic performance, and this include a Poron PCB-plate foam, an IXPE switch foam, a PET noise cancellation pad, a Poron case foam, and PET insulation pad. The multi-player is designed to reduce the metal pinging, vibrations, rattles, for a pleasing typing sound.

Along with the Lemon switches, Epomaker had also sent us the Silent Sea Salt switches to try with the Tide75 keyboard. We did a typing test to show how both the Epomaker Lemon switches and the Epomaker Sea Salt switches sound on the Tide75 keyboard. Take a look at the video below.
