The Acer Nitro series gaming laptops are popular for their gaming performance and stylish chassis. We recently got a chance to try out the new Acer Nitro V 16, and here are our thoughts about the new gaming laptop.
Design
The latest Acer Nitro V 16 laptop features a familiar chassis design, and the device weighs 2.5 kg. One of the main highlights of the laptop is its 16-inch IPS display with a matte finish, sporting a screen resolution of 1920 x 1200, and the aspect ratio is the wider 16:10. The refresh rate of the display can reach up to 165Hz for smooth gameplay and animations. The white color tones appear to be well-balanced out of the box.
The laptop also comes with several connectivity options on either side. On the right side, you have the USB 3.2 Gen 2 port, along with the power and battery LED indicators. On the left side, you have one RJ45 LAN connection, one Kensington lock, a USB 3.2 Gen 1 port, and a headphone jack. Both sides also feature air vents for the cooling system.
The gamer-centric backlit keyboard also comes with the numeric keys. There is a Mode key on the top right side, placed above the keyboard area. Acer also included a dedicated NitroSense key as a part of the numeric pad layout. There are extra air vents on the top side of the keyboard area. The touchpad is also large and smooth to use. You can also see the Nitro-inspired designs on the palm rest portion of the keyboard.
The outer view of the laptop features the Nitro insignia. Acer has also included extra connectivity options on the rear side of the laptop for better flexibility.
There is the power connector on the rear side, along with the HDMI 2.1 port, and the USB Type-C port with support for Thunderbolt 4 displays. The placement of the HDMI and power connector on the rear side would certainly avoid the unnecessary tangling of cables. Acer also included the exhaust fan vents on the rear side of the laptop for better cooling efficiency.
