NVIDIA unveils the 3080 Ti and 3070 Ti mobile, world’s the fastest laptop GPUs

As a part of the CES 2022 announcements, NVIDIA has officially expanded its laptop GPU lineup with the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and the RTX 3070 Ti laptop GPUs.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti mobile GPU has 16GB of GDDR6 memory and a 256-bit bus interface with memory speeds up to 16 Gbps, which is currently the fastest GPU memory available. With this kind of performance, the GPU can push a bandwidth to 512GB/s. NVIDIA has yet to unveil further details, but word is it that the 3080 Ti mobile packs about 7424 CUDA cores and rocks with GA103 SKU. The GPU clock speed is 1125 MHz and the boost clock speed is 1590 MHz.

With all that said, the 3080 Ti laptop GPU is expected to feature a TDP of 175W, which is about 10W more than what the base RTX 3080 laptop GPU consumes. The 3080 Ti mobile GPU will make its way to gaming laptops that cost over 2500 dollars. The 3070 Ti laptop GPU, on the other hand, comes with the GA104 SKU and offers about 70% more performance than the GeForce RTX 2070 Super  GPU. The 3070 Ti mobile has 5888 CUDA cores with 1035 MHz as the base clock speeds, and 1485 MHz as the boost clock speeds. The GPU comes with 8GB GDDR6 memory with a 256-bit bus and 14Gbps memory speed that produces 448GB/s bandwidth.

The new 3070 Ti mobile GPUs will come with gaming laptops that are priced starting at 1499 dollars. NVIDIA also announced its Studio laptops that feature the new RTX 3080 Ti GPUs, offering up to seven times faster performance than the latest Apple MacBook Pro 16 M1 Max for 3D renders. NVIDIA mentions that with the help of hardware-accelerated AI, and a high-performance video processor, these laptops are perfect for creative workflow.
