Four-time Counter-Strike Major winner Peter ‘dupreeh’ Rasmussen to play at Abu Dhabi BLAST Premier World Final

Team Vitality’s star gaming player and four-time Counter-Strike Major winner Peter ‘dupreeh’ Rasmussen is relishing the opportunity of playing in front of a big crowd at Etihad Arena and hopes to finish the year in style when his team travels to Abu Dhabi for the BLAST Premier World Final.

The French team, one of the high-profile professional esports organisations in the world, became the latest team to book their place in the season-ending finale, which takes place between 14th-18th December after reigning supreme in the ESL Pro League Season 16.

Peter Rasmussen, known as ‘dupreeh’ in the esports circuit, says his team-mates are looking forward to the World Final in Abu Dhabi and hopes many people are present at the Etihad Arena to experience one of the best gaming tournaments.

He said “For any player, it is always amazing to be playing in an arena so to play in a big arena (like Etihad Arena) is going to be massive for everyone. We love playing in front of a crowd and we want to make sure there’s a great atmosphere with lots of fans and it’s something that we’re looking forward to.”

BLAST has partnered with AD Gaming – a pioneering gaming and esports initiative – to bring its prestigious global esports tournament, the BLAST Premier World Final to Abu Dhabi which will feature eight of the world’s best Counter-Strike teams as they aim to claim a share of the $1 million prize pool.

Team Vitality joins other leading esports organisations – NAVI and Faze Clan for the tournament and given the best sides will be participating, Rasmussen expects stern tests, making it enthralling viewing for the fans in attendance.

He said “You want to leave a good impression on the final event of the season – we always want to do our best but if you win the last competition of the season, people will remember those moments. The teams who have qualified shows how difficult it will be as it’s only the best of the best teams and they have proven themselves this year. It’s going to be difficult but at the same time you want the competition to be the best as possible. It’s going to be extremely competitive but also fun.”

Tickets for the last two days of the gaming tournament on 17th and 18th December start from only AED 85 per person while Student tickets are priced at AED 50 with different hospitality packages are also available.
