The British International School Riyadh’s DQ team (BISR DQ) has achieved a historic victory, being crowned the U13 Minecraft World Champions at the prestigious Malta Esports World Championships. This remarkable accomplishment marks a significant milestone for youth esports and highlights the growing global influence of Minecraft as a competitive platform.
The groundbreaking tournament, organised by DAIGON Esports in collaboration with PLAYCON, with support from GamingMalta, provided an excellent opportunity for BISR students – where they had an opportunity to network with other students from around the world, and laid a foundation for potential careers in the rapidly expanding esports industry and related tech fields.
Competing against top teams from around the world, BISR DQ demonstrated exceptional skill, creativity, and teamwork throughout the tournament. Their strategic gameplay and innovative problem-solving set them apart, earning them the coveted world champion title in the U13 category.
The Malta Esports World Championships brought together the best young Minecraft players, with teams representing countries from every continent. BISR DQ advanced through intense qualifying rounds, overcoming formidable opponents with their unique approach to challenges and collaborative spirit.
The victory was celebrated by students, staff, and families at the British International School Riyadh, as well as by the wider esports community. The team’s success is a testament to the school’s commitment to fostering digital literacy, teamwork, and creative thinking among its students.
