Saudi Arabia gets its first multi-player virtual reality arena in Riyadh

Zero Latency, a pioneering global leader in warehouse scale, free-roam, multiplayer virtual reality gaming company announced that it has launched Saudi Arabia’s first multi-player virtual reality arena in Salma Center, Riyadh.

The 600 square metres arena offers an experience where guests, along with their friends, family or colleagues, enter the virtual world together and experience what it’s like to walk on a new planet or fight for survival, working as a team to fight off Zombies or Alien Robots.

With no physical walls, free from cords and wires, up to eight players can freely roam, walk, explore and play together through complex and varied virtual terrains. The team is equipped with state-of-the-art virtual reality headsets, headphones, military-style backpacks and controllers where all their movements are replicated in the game.

Doran Davies, CEO of Zero Latency in the Middle East, said “Residents of Riyadh are always on the lookout for fun activities, the latest trends in gaming technology and new entertainment experiences to enjoy. Zero latency is a perfect fit for the Saudi market given the community’s hunger for new technology and entertainment.

“Our offering is unique in the market as we’ve eliminated the motion sickness sometimes associated with VR experiences using a combination of technology and proprietary software, hence the name Zero Latency.

“We are looking forward to welcoming guests into our brand-new venue. Our “Next Generation VR Gaming Center” in Riyadh will offer residents the perfect space for friends, family or work colleagues to experience virtual reality entertainment and games like never before.”

Zero Latency offers a range of entertainment including Engineerium, Zombie Survival and Singularity to name a few. Players can see each other as full-motion avatars and can communicate through headsets to talk, strategize and have fun with their friends. The games have been designed for groups of friends, parties, corporates or individual gamers.

Zero Latency is now officially open at Salma Centre, 4210 Imam Abdullah Ibn Saud Ibn Abdulaziz Rd, Ash Shuhada, Riyadh. Tickets cost SAR 150 for an hour-long experience, including a briefing, and are available at the venue or on the website. Opening times are from 4pm to 12pm Thursday and Friday and from 3pm to 11pm from Saturday to Wednesday. During the month of Ramadan, the operational hours will be from 8pm to 2am on weekdays and weekends.
