Wolfentein II: The New Colossus DLC Starts Arriving December Onwards

If you’re looking to stay busy during the holiday season, Bethesda cordially invites you to spend more time doing very bad things to Nazis with a launch lineup for Wolfenstein II’s upcoming DLC content. We already knew that Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus would be getting a trio of story-driven DLC packs but, until now, we had no idea when those new sets of missions would be available.

For those of you looking to extend your Wolfenstein adventures, the first two DLC packs are scheduled to arrive in December and January. The third pack, for now, still doesn’t have a launch window. The first pack will be The Adventures of Gunslinger Joe, and it’ll be in your hot little hands come Dec. 14. The second pack, The Diaries of Agent Silent Death, will be up for grabs Jan. 30. We know that the third pack is called The Amazing Deeds of Captain Wilkins but, for now, Bethesda has not narrowed in a launch date beyond “sometime in March.”

Also, some new information is the fact that the three packs will be available for purchase separately, even though we don’t know how much they’ll cost if you want to go that route. The full bundle, though, is $24.99. Since bundles typically save you a few bucks, we wouldn’t be surprised if the individual DLC packs come in at about 10 bucks a pop.

As we previously reported, these three DLC packs are collectively known as The Freedom Chronicles. Rather than play Wolfenstein II protagonist B.J. Blazkowicz, players will instead take control of the titular trio of characters. One is a former football pro turned American badass, the other is a pulp-as-hell super spy, while the third is a walking, talking army hero stereotype. That’s a pretty diverse cast, and we imagine they’ll all play a bit differently from the norm.

Their stories will begin with a prologue Bethesda has titled “Episode Zero,” which you can get your hands on now if you pre-ordered the game or grabbed the season pass. Anyway, all told, you can expect another nine hours of gameplay, so we figure about three hours a pop.

Gunslinger Joe’s adventure will take place in Chicago while Agent Silent Death will be bringing the heat to California. Gerald Wilkins, on the other hand, will be heading north to Alaska. As the original story points out, the extra cool thing about these characters is that they are pulled from books that exist within the world of Wolfenstein II, sort of as pulp propaganda for American folks now living under Nazi control. That’s an admittedly rad way to continue the fun without needing to expand on the existing story of the game’s universe.
