HyperX recently unveiled the new Cloud Stinger 3 headphones, featuring lag-free wireless connectivity, long battery life, comfortable wear, and more. We review the Cloud Stinger 3, and here are our thoughts about the headphones.
Design
The new Cloud Stinger 3 headphones feature an ergonomic design that provides a comfortable wear while gaming. The precision headband adjustment sliders help to adjust the size, and the earcups rotate by 90 degrees for the perfect seating position. The dimensions of the headphone are 11.4 x 18.9 x 23.4 cm, and the device weighs 610 g. The device comes in both black and white colors.
The right-sided earcup features the USB-C connector, along with the power button. The left-sided earcup features the volume rocker, the button to switch between Bluetooth and wireless connectivity via USB-C dongle, and more. The retractable microphone is seen on the left earcup. You can also see the implementation of HyperX on the outer side of the earcups.
The design of the earcups is based on the HyperX Signature Comfort, and the memory foam on the earcups rests easily and comfortably on your ears, thanks to the premium leatherette for longer and stress-free gaming sessions.
The packaging includes the Stinger 3 headset, a HyperX USB cable, a USB wireless dongle, and a quick start guide.
Features
Each of the headphones houses large 50mm audio drivers that keep gamers immersed during gaming. The bit depth of the drivers is 16-bit, and the frequency response is tuned between 10 Hz to 50 kHz. The sampling rate ranges between 16 kHz to 48 kHz, impedence is 32 ohms, and the headphone sensitivity is 114 dB SPL.
When it comes to wireless capability, the device offers both wireless USB Type-A dongle and Bluetooth connectivity. With NGENUITY application on PC, you can enable spatial audio to hear the best of audio effects. The retractable microphone features a Swivel-to-Mute gesture that automatically mutes the microphone. The mic also comes with noise-canceling capabilities.
The device also features a large Li-ion polymer battery that can last up to 80 hours of use, and the charge time is 4 hours.
