Acer Africa has reaffirmed its long-term commitment to the continent’s fast‑growing esports ecosystem, announcing an extended partnership with the African Cyber Gaming League (ACGL) for the African Gaming Championship (AGC) 2026. The collaboration positions Acer as the primary hardware partner for the flagship tournament, set to take place at GrandWest in Cape Town from July 16 to 19, 2026.
The renewed alliance will see Acer deploy high‑performance monitors and computing systems across the entire tournament venue, powering competitive arenas, administrative operations, and live mobile streaming setups. According to the company, the investment reflects a broader strategy to strengthen Africa’s gaming infrastructure and support the region’s rising esports talent.
“We aren’t just supplying monitors and PCs; we are continuously investing in the infrastructure of African gaming,” said Glenn du Toit, Country Manager of Acer South Africa.
AGC 2026 will feature a guaranteed prize pool of R150,000, drawing top competitors from across the continent. Players will compete in leading titles including VALORANT, Fortnite, EA FC 26, Call of Duty Mobile, Tekken 8, and Brawlhalla, underscoring the tournament’s status as one of Africa’s premier esports showcases.
Beyond the main event, Acer is also expanding its grassroots footprint through continued support for the Nitro African Schools League (ASL). The initiative provides a structured pathway for young gamers to progress from school-level competition to professional esports, reinforcing the brand’s focus on youth development and digital skills.
“Our vision is to build an ecosystem where players can discover opportunities at every stage — from school esports to international competition,” said Nick Holden, CEO of ACGL.
The partnership aligns with Acer’s growing local hardware assembly operations in South Africa, enabling the company to deliver tailored, high‑performance solutions directly to players, organizers, and fans.
Tournament registration, brackets, and ticketing details are available on the official ACGL platform, while Acer Africa continues to showcase its latest gaming hardware lineup online.
