ASUS is getting ready to enter the high-speed SSD space with the launch of the new ROG STRIX SQ7 PCIe 4.0 SSD. The company recently teased the new storage on their ROG-based social media channels.
It’s about time that ASUS also joined the SSD bandwagon since its direct competitors such as Gigabyte and MSI have already introduced their own PCIe 4.0 SSDs. While there aren’t many technical details, the image does convey quite a bit of information. For starters, the upcoming drive is branded under the ROG Strix line-up. Gamers who are fans of ROG products can have a complete set of ROG Strix components such as ROG Strix motherboards, GPUs, PSUs, AiO coolers, etc. under their cabinet.
There isn’t any information if ASUS plans to release the new SSD with and without heatsinks, which can also be a good drive for the PlayStation 5. While we don’t have many details regarding the capacities that will be available, the drive on the teaser image confirms that there will be a 1TB version of the drive.
With Computex 2022 on the horizon, expect ASUS to unveil more details regarding the specifications and pricing of the new ROG STRIX SQ7 SSD.
