Inaugural Abu Dhabi Gaming Festival starts tomorrow

Zawaya Gaming have announced the inaugural Abu Dhabi Gaming Festival, with more than 5,000 players set to compete across 10 different games in a month-long celebration of gaming from October 1, 2021.

The virtual event will be open to players across the GCC – including serious and casual gamers – with more than AED 20,000 in prizes to be given away. Twenty-eight days of competition will then culminate in two days of live-streamed finals, where champions will be crowned in some of the world’s most popular games.

Games included in the festival are: FIFA 22, League of Legends, PUBG Mobile, Fortnite, Valorant, Wildrift, Tekken, Gran Turismo, Rocket League and more. Players will be able to compete on PC, PlayStation, XBox, and Mobile.

Organized by Zawaya Gaming, alongside Abtal360, the event is supported by the Abu Dhabi Gaming (AD Gaming) initiative which aims to promote Abu Dhabi as the destination for esports across the region.

Partners of the region’s first experiential gaming event include Yas Waterworld, Warner Brothers, Ferrari World, Yas Marina Circuit, and hotels in the city – who will provide tournament winning champions with exclusive experiences.

The Abu Dhabi Gaming Festival starts on October 1 and runs for the entire month. The flagship tournament is just the beginning of an exciting future for the festival, with plans being lined up for a live edition.
